I remember meeting Maria when Mattie and my daughter Erin were in kindergarten. They had become best friends by time they were in first grade. Maria and I were talking one day and found out her brother Stanley and my sister Anne had been friends through high school, what a small world. Unfortunately the girls went to different schools after elementary school and lost touch. Maria was such a sweet caring woman who cared about family and friends! I feel lucky to have had her as part of my life! Thoughts and prayers are with you Mattie, Emera, Stanley and family! No words can ease your pain, memories will carry you through! ~Sue Gardner~

Mattie and Em-

I just wanted to share one of my favorite memories with you. Do you remember the day your Mom, you two, Sara, Nick and I went tubing at the park? I went down the hill, hit mud and flipped right over -right out of "America's funny videos"-or whatever that show is. I thought for sure your Mom would be running down the hill to make sure I was OK (which I was) -because she was so caring- but I turned around and she was cracking up! Makes me smile to remember her smile. The best part of the day was going back to the car for warmth and whatever snack your Mom carefully packed. Always so thoughtful- thinking about you kids.

I just thought I'd share that. I love you two-Teresa

I will miss you- beyond words. You were a hero- you fought so had. You desperately did not want to leave your girls. You had an incredible heart. Your beauty-inside and out-will live on inside the minds and hearts of those who love and knew you. You were a true friend. This sucks.-Teresa

Mattie and Em-
Whatever- whenever-we are here for you.

Maria is the dearest friend that I will ever have. I feel fortunate that we met by chance when I rented from her in 1986. We immediately became friends and enjoyed talking for hours. Our friendship continued although I moved hours away. I will always keep her in my heart and remember the sweetness of her smile and the kindness of her words. Judy Chrusciel

Mommy,

You are the sun and the trees and everything I have loved and everything I ever will love. When I look up at the sky I can feel you.

One time you said to me: 'You are true poetry, with yet more to be written.'
I'll never forget that. I'll keep writing my poem for you.

I love you always and forever meow,

Mattie

Goodbye my dear friend. You fought a hard and courageous battle for you, your girls and your family. Through all of this you didn't want the focus on you. You always wanted to know how everyone else was. Even though we lived 100's of miles away we were still part of each others lives. When we would meet up we would talk for hours as though we had never been apart. I will miss our weekly texts and our monthly phone calls. I will miss bringing you a part of Cape Cod when I stopped by every August. I will miss the good times but am thankful for the memories and laughs. Maybe you are riding that big red scooter in heaven right now. Just don't knock anything over this time. You will always be the sister I never had.
Love you girl!
To Mattie and Emera... Now heart goes out to you girls. May you grow closer together and let the love your mom had shine through you both.

Sending all our love from Canada, Heather, Dan, Melissa and Sarah Clayton

It saddens me to have learned that she passed away after such a courageous fight. Even though, I only met her a few times, it was made known to me that she was an amazing individual.

I know she's in a better place and my thoughts go out to her daughters Emera and Mattie, my courageous cousins.

Rest in Peace.
