Chao H. McCallum, 44, of Cortland passed away, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at her home after a brief illness. Chao was born in China on February 13, 1968 and was a resident of Cortland for many years.
Chao was formerly employed as a hairdresser with Regis Salon in Ithaca and was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Neil McCallum, her mother, Yinfang He of Cortland, a daughter, Chuging Zhu of Minneapolis, Minn; a sister, Ling Wang of Cortland, a brother, Yong Wang of China and a step son, Michael McCallum of Cortland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church with Rev. Lucian Urbaniak serving as celebrant. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland, N.Y. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to Mass.
Interment will be at the family's convenience in Acacia Park, in N. Tonawanda, N.Y.
