Diane L. Evans, 77, of Utica, died on Monday, October 8, 2012, at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born on June 6, 1935, in Utica, a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Griffith Jones. She graduated from UFA in 1953 and continued her education at MVCC. Diane married Wayne L. Evans on November 18, 1961, in Moriah Presbyterian Church. She worked for the Nick Calogero Accounting firm and then worked for Dan-Dee Donuts as the controller. Diane was a member of the Moriah-Olivet Presbyterian Church where she served as the Treasurer, Elder, Deacon and a member of the choir. Diane and her husband, loved to travel especially to Vermont. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed reading about Welsh and American history. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Evans of Utica; two sons, David Evans and his wife, Terry of Utica and Richard Evans and his wife, Judy of New Hartford; grandchildren, Chris, Adam, Shanon, Dylan and Kendall; a sister-in-law, Gail Williams and her husband, Warren; nephew, James Fairbank; niece, Elizabeth Kimball and many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Iris Fairbank. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare for the excellent care and comfort given to Diane. The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Foundation, Regional Cancer Center in memory of Diane.
