Gertrude ("Trudi") E. Teck, 72, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away on Monday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Trudi was born on April 25, 1940 in Cortland, NY to parents Willard and Genevieve Owens. She was a graduate of the University of Rochester and Syracuse University. She was employed by the NYS Department of Labor, and then later worked for V.E.S.I.D. as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively and spent winters in Florida. Trudi will be remembered for her ever positive outlook on life, her devotion to family, and her active lifestyle. She enjoyed golf, bridge, dancing, volunteer work, boating, traveling, and singing and handbell ringing in the church choir. She was predeceased by her late husband, Henry J. Teck, and her brother, Robert E. Owens. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Montzka of Sycamore, IL, daughter Holly Moser of Astoria/Queens, NY, son John (Sherry) Moser of Syracuse, two grandchildren, William and Abigail, and several neices and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday January 12, 2013. at Erwin First United Methodist Church, 920 Euclid Ave. Syracuse, NY 13210 Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY, 13088.
