Gilda Diana Giordano, lover of art, music, and people, departed this life on January 24, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 23, 1952 and lived for many years in Lake Luzerne, NY and New York City. She was 60 years of age.
Gilda was extremely kind, considerate and generous and greatly enjoyed the company of family and friends. She was fiercely loyal and formed life-long friendships with people from all walks of life. Gilda lived her life believing that people are about the only thing in life that really matter. She was typically the first on the scene to help family and friends in need and among the last to leave. Gilda gave of herself unconditionally and never expected anything in return. Gilda's profession, nursing, was a logical choice because it provided her a way to help others on a full-time basis.
Gilda was a great communicator and loved telling a good story. She had a unique gift for taking mundane events and weaving them together to tell a story that captivated everyone's attention. Sharing came easy for Gilda--it was her way of letting people know just how special they are. And people loved and cherished Gilda for the wonderful person she is.
Grazie mille, Gilda, for spending time with us. We will remember you always and keep your name and spirit alive. We will see you soon.
A memorial mass for Gilda will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church on 416 Third Street, Troy, NY 12180
