The GÄ©thae-MÅ©go Family is sad to announce the death of their beloved child Njeri KÅ©i MÅ©go, who passed on at her family home: 225 Sherbourne Rd., Syracuse, N.Y. 13224 at 11:00 a.m. on October 4th, 2012. She had bravely fought ovarian cancer since May 2012 and leaves behind an amazing legacy of courage, humor and dignity in struggling against serious illness. Njeri KÅ©i MÅ©go is survived by her immediate family: MÄ©cere GÄ©thae MÅ©go (mother) and MÅ©mbi wa MÅ©go (sister), as well as a large extended family, mostly in Kenya, East Africa. There will be a public body viewing and wake on Thursday, October 11th 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Burns Garfield Funeral Home, Inc., 3175 East Genesee Street, Syracuse N.Y. 13224. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12th 2012, 12:00 p.m., at Burns Garfield Funeral Home, Inc, 3175 East Genesee Street, Syracuse N.Y. 13224; followed by a repast at 3:00 p.m. Her ashes will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 13th 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Oakwood Cemetery, 940 Comstock Avenue, Syracuse, N.Y. 13210, where a short funeral service will take place. Njeri MÅ©go's full obituary will be featured in Wednesday's newspaper, as well as posted on the Burns Garfield Funeral Home website. Burns Garfield Funeral Home will receive flowers on Njeri's behalf on Thursday between 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. To honor her memory, the family plans to establish a not for profit organization which Njeri had envisioned before her departure. Details on this will be provided once the NGO is set up. In the meantime, checks may be sent to an existing operative joint account with her sister and addressed to MÅ©mbi MÅ©go, with a memo reading: For Njeri's Global Children. The GÄ©thae-MÅ©go family continues to greatly appreciate the community's support and solidarity
