Shirley H. Gersony, 82, died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's hospital. Born in Seneca Falls, she lived in Elmira until marrying David Gersony, of blessed memory, in 1952. Shirley was a valued volunteer at WCNY where she read to the blind. She was a wonderful and loving person who took pride and pleasure in doing for others, and spending time with her family.
Survived by her children Howard Gersony, Bobbi and Cliff Malzman, and Marilyn and Terry Ryan; her grandchildren Ari and Jessica Malzman, Alissa and Justin Sterling, Erin Ryan, and Owen Ryan; her great grandson Asher Sterling; her sister Floriett Herman; and her nieces and nephews.
