Stella S. Stanwick, 88, passed away January 2, 2013, at St. Luke's Home. She was born, July 12, 1924, the daughter of Carl and Eleanor Szarek. Stella married Anthony Stanwick, Sr., on June 5, 1948. He passed away December 11, 1983. Stella was a graduate of New York Mills High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Utica, retiring from Sears in 2008. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her son, Anthony (Tony) Stanwick, Jr. and his wife Kathleen Stanwick of Remsen; a very special granddaughter, Alyssa Stanwick, Morrisville; a brother, Robert (Bob) Szarek, New York Mills; five nieces; and special friends including Lois Ellenberg, Sylvia LaFave and Pat Wylie. Besides her husband; she was predeceased by her loving daughter, Kathy A. Stanwick "Wexler" on July 26, 2005; and a brother, Henry (Hank) Szarek. In keeping with Stella's wishes, services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in care of Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro.
